Question by Mountain Dweller: The word “culture” itself imposes a cultural bound viewpoint when examining human political regimes?
The word ‘culture” is a philosophical word that has run amok and now gets in the way of clear thinking. It establishes either the pre-political or the trans-political as the starting of philosophical examination of political regimes and raises the importance of the mundane and concrete. It’s tied to a historicist view of human nature that sees humans as products of their language, group, tribe, etc. It establishes as the operational norm: the importance of the group over the individual & effect-based behavior not goal directed behavior when studying political regimes or human communities.
