Michelle Perrino Sets Office On Fire to Get the Rest of the Day Off
Michelle Perrino apparently
doesn't much like her job at Bayonet Point Oxygen in New Port Richey, Florida. She wanted the rest of the day off, but she
wanted to ensure she'd get paid. So she decided to set a filing cabinet on fire...
As the fire rages, she spent
the rest of the day enjoying the fabulous Florida sunshine.
But at a subsequent staff meeting, she mentioned that
the fire started in the filing cabinet. Unfortunately for Lady Perrino, this was a little bit too much information, since
neither firefighters nor management had actually told the staff where the fire started.
Perrino quit her job as
a customer service rep two days later. But that didn't stop those pesky investigators from nosing around. An interview with
a former roommate revealed the our 40-year-old heroine had a history of using ingenious sabotage to bolt work early.
In one incident, she tripped the main breaker so the office would lose power. In another, she sabotaged the phones so no
calls could come in. That allowed her to still get paid for leaving work instead of burning vacation.
Alas, Perrino
pleaded to a lesser charge of mischief and only has to do nine months in the slam. But she does have to pay Bayonet Point
$4,800 in restitution, and she's been ordered to stay away from its employees.
