Eric "Protein" Moseley, along with his daughter, was forced to take on a homeless journey which included Miami as being one of the most memorable encounters. During his stay in Miami at that time he was not an impact to the homeless community due to his drug addiction. However, after leaving Miami, Moseley put down his bad habits and out of nowhere became a homeless advocate and a filmmaker known on opposite coasts as being recognized as a political filmmaker from Washington DC to Washington State.

Moseley lists of films include “Skid Row Journey”, “Down (But Not Out)” an ETV PBS Special, which mentions his homelessness in Miami, and “A Cry Out to Obama” which recently aired on WHUT PBS in Washington DC. Moseley is currently working on a film titled “A Cry Out to Michelle Obama” that will make its debut premier in Seattle, WA.

Moseley's journey to Miami stands out because he remembers being greeted by a guy who went by the name of ‘Angel’ upon his arrival with his daughter the first night. Angel stated to Moseley that he was homeless and resided in Centennial Park but he could not take Moseley and his daughter there because of how dangerous the park was, so in turn Angel took them to another location and he would take watch over them until the morning. When Moseley awakened Angel was gone and after asking around no one ever knew of this guy. Moseley recalls another incident where a panhandler in front of Miami Subs asked Moseley for some change but in return gave him a dollar when he found out his situation with his daughter. Another night when Moseley did not know where he was going to sleep he found a brand new pillow and blanket, still in the plastic, in a garbage can, which is something that they used for that night. Moseley was actually homeless with his daughter for over 16 years.

Together, Moseley films have been featured a total of fourteen times in local newspapers from South Carolina to Los Angeles up to Washington State and across the county to the Washington D.C. area as well. Moseley has even been recognized in Los Angeles as becoming the very first homeless filmmaker to have documentaries aired on opposite coasts. Moseley is now turning his attention to his new film which is a documentary titled “A Cry Out to Michelle Obama” which will premier in the near future. Moseley’s future plans are to come to Miami and do a documentary on poverty in Liberty city and the Over Town area.
