The line from the Kool Aid stand stretched for miles and we all drank from it. Wade, Lebron, and Bosh on the same team, how could we lose? But we quickly learned that basketball is a team sport, it seemed that the players were as surprised as we were that this wasn’t going to easy. But in the end the season was a success. Yes, a success. It’s certainly disappointing to be two games away from an NBA championship and fall short, but we’re light years ahead of last season, and especially the dismal season before. Almost overnight the HEAT went from insignificant to championship contenders. We took out our nemesis, the Boston Celtics, and then the number one seed Chicago Bulls. It was no small feat to become Eastern Conference Champions. I wanted us to win it all as bad as anyone, but let’s celebrate how well they did and how far they got. I’m proud to say I’m a HEAT fan, and proud of our team. And remember, this is just the beginning. |
