Dolphin (Mahi Mahi) Report June 2010

Had a full day of Dolphin (mahi mahi) fishing Tony, Ricky and Joe.  We met at the marina at around 6:30am loaded the boat a off we went.  After spending about half an hour looking for live bait and nothing to show for our efforts we decided to buy some Pilchards from Pedro at Ashley Live Bait.

Ran offshore and found an area with a lot of life.  Birds were working the scattered weeds and flying fish were showering everywhere, put out three lines and started trolling within first 5 minutes we had our first school of dolphin behind the boat.  For the next few hours we picked through the schools of small dolphin concentrating on the bigger fish.  We ended the day with 28 good size dolphins including some very nice gaffers.

I still have days available in June and July, give me a call if you want to get out and enjoy the great fishing South Florida has to offer.

REMEMBER:  Summer is here and it gets too hot to fish during the day.  An evening Snapper fishing trip is a great way to put some good eating fish on the dinner table without getting overheated and breaking the bank.  Give me a call to inquire about our evening yellow tail and mangrove snapper trips.
