Written In Blood Story

Written In Blood was created in 2005 by
vocalist J.D. Blood and guitarist Justin Stamper with the sole purpose of breathing new life into today’s Metal scene.
The band’s impassioned music and profound lyrical depth captures the voice of a dejected generation with provocative,
personal lyrics that encompass everything from life lessons to inspirational growth. The band’s first EP , We Are Divinity
(available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and emusic) was recorded at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, FL with producers Jason
Suecof and Mark Lewis, which are known for their work with the likes of Trivium, All That Remains, and The Black Dahlia Murder
among many others. “This Purpose Driven Life,”
a song that speaks to the audience on an emotionally poignant level without ever sacrificing one iota of ferocity, serves
as a platform where J.D. Blood talks about following something that often seems unattainable: a dream.“We want to give
people some music that will help them believe in themselves and show them that with hard work they can accomplish anything.
If I can overcome the past of a really tough childhood, anyone can. If it weren’t for music, we may never have conquered
these vicious demons and we want to be able to help others triumph over their own adversities." "Its kind of hard to put a specific
label to the kind of music that we play." says guitarist Cj Cussell, who also played alongside the newest addition of
Trivium, Nick Augusto in their former band Ends Of The Earth. "If I had to come up with a genre to best describe us,
it would be called Soul Metal. The kind of metal that we play comes right from the heart. It’s about the everyday struggles
and experiences that all of us have to face in life. Music has helped me through the hardest and darkest times of my life,
and my goal with this band is to reach out to everyone who has felt what we have felt, and help them rise above it all."
Bassist Alex Laboy and drummer Weston Stone provide the pummeling rhythm section in Written in Blood, and with the recent addition of lead guitarist Ronny Gutierrez, winner of various national guitar contests including the Guitar Center Steve Vai Sessions, the band has become an unrelenting unit of musical brother’s hell-bent on making the most intense and soulful music they possibly can. Written In Blood’s debut EP , “We Are Divinity” is out on Revenge Recordings an available through most digital music stores. The band also have plans to leave their mark on the South Florida metal and Hardrock scene this summer with a handful of live shows planned. |
