Queen Dementia

Queen Dementia offers a sound that's aggressively passionate, soulful and intelligent, yet beautiful. Two magnetic forces collided late 2006. Vocalist Alanna and guitarist Joseph both educated in psychology, had a musical connection unlike no other.

Alanna was raised on and indulged in the hardcore/thrash/death metal scene of Deicide, Megadeth, Carcass and Sepultura which defined her creative edge and approach as a songwriter. Her voice is influenced by female artists Sarah McLachlan, Kate Bush, PJ Harvey and Beth Gibbons (Portishead), as well as male voices such as Maynard Keenan (Tool) which when combined creates an unkindly contrast of interests. This is what makes her elements all the more unique. After a 2010 lineup change, Alanna assumed responsibility of adding bass to her repertoire in addition to her vocal duties.

Joseph began listening to the classics: The Beatles, Zeppelin and the Stones but has incorporated a more aggressive style throughout his life, savoring elements from the past and creating a heavy rhythm that drives into the realm of Black Sabbath, Tool and Nirvana.

In late 2009 Nick joined Queen Dementia which completed the band's lineup. He was born with a set of drum sticks in his hands. Utilizing his technical expertise in conjunction with a contagious groove, Nick adds to the aggressive style of the band with influences ranging from Def Leppard to Slipknot.

Queen Dementia successfully synthesizes various aspects of psychology, the human condition and emotion into an abstract, often comprehensible musical format that catches you off guard. They explore various emotions defining each moment with vigor and poise, which has lead to a satisfying creative relationship with long-term potential. Queen Dementia will soon leave their mark on the music industry with their proficiency of sound.
