Why occupy?
By David Bowling

The original protest began on September 17, 2011 in New York City based in Zuccotti Park in the Wall Street financial district., and by October 9, similar demonstrations have been held in 70 major cities and over 600 communities in the U.S.

What’s difficult to understand is why.  Each protester from every city seems to have a different agenda.  What’s most puzzling to me is that the persons protesting are self proclaimed liberals and democrats and aren’t blaming the current administration.  Huh?

They’re upset with “Wall Street”.  A quick tidbit for these folks, U.S. laws are voted on in Washington DC, not in the New York financial district.

I’m as upset as they are that banks and corporations receive billions of dollars while we the people get poorer.  But they can’t get a dime unless our elected officials approve of it.

I’m all for peaceful protests as a way to fight for change in our country.  I just don’t see the point without a clear cut agenda.  Besides, complaining about the banks getting bailout money to the banks themselves is ridiculous.  If the government offered you a few million would you turn it down?

No wonder 1% controls the other 99.
