Dynamic Duo Munday and Alvarez
team up on Tall Tales Spoken Word.

Like Andy Worhol is to Pop Culture Mickey Munday is
to Urban Legend.
The mastermind behind the largest drug trafficking Empire
in South Florida during the late 70’s early 80’s lives to tell about his glory days once again. After his starring
role in Cocaine Cowboys, Mickey has achieved Iconic Cult status not only in his backyard of Miami but globally.
Now this Miamian with the Midas touch teams up with
Miami’s world-renowned 3-time Grammy award winning producer Carlos Alvarez to bring you the latest and greatest in spoken
word.
Tall Tales is a memoir compilation, with tales like
“More Work for Munday” and “Lo Tech beats High Tech”, you are taken back in time to relive the adventures
of Mickey’s glory day’s as one of the world most famous and notorious drug smugglers for the Columbian Cartel.
Mickey is the featured artist of his spoken word Tall Tales
series, if you were to close your eyes and listen to his stories you would swear that you were right there along side him
as he takes you on his adventures.
Alvarez’s ingenious creative sound effects and ingenuity
brings Mickey’s “Tall Tales” to life with its subtle background sound effects. Listening to this audio production
can be equated to gathering around a living room in the 30’s with your family, enjoying a performance of the Shadow
by Orson Welles, on steroids.
Alvarez explained, “What I tried to do was enhance
his stories (with the sound effects) remaining, ever vigilant. My intentions are not distract the listener from the stories
being told, by adding subtle sound effects to enhance the overall atmospheric ambience of his performance. Really, I just
tried to stay out of the way of Mickey’s great adventure stories."
“When I first saw Billy Corbin's documentary Cocaine
Cowboys it was obvious Mickey had a gift for storytelling. Mickey is a real life true MacGyver, a genius, and an adventurer
of sorts, I could not wait to get his adventures recorded. He came to the studio really prepared and with some trial and error
at first, I think he was able to relax and really deliver..." We are not planning to stop with Tall Tales.
I have to say that I am really eager and can’t wait
to hear what come next from this dynamic duo.
