The Miami HEAT's Jason Jackson

Jason
Jackson has been a sportscaster and writer for ESPN from 1995 until 2002, and is best known as the host of NBA 2Night. In 2003, he hosted his own sports talk radio show in Hartford, CT called The Jax Show. He is currently a
broadcaster for our Miami Heat. Kelly Dwyer of SI.com wrote in his 2006 "NBA Announcers Report Card"
that Jason Jackson might be the best side-line reporter in the business. He graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1994, where he had served as a resident advisor at Bromfield Hall and as President of the Undergraduate Student Government.
He was
kind enough to stop by and answer 7 questions.
What do you like best about Miami? I love the weather. I am a golfer,
and my kids play sports so it is all about the weather. I was born in Ohio, and lived in Connecticut for 19 years. That is
a total of 30 years of snow and sleet - I'm good. If you've ever had to remove snow that has been frozen over or had a snow
plow undo your work at the end of a driveway, you know what I'm talking about. > What
do like the least about Miami? There seems to be a natural segregation of communities. I'd
like to see more of a mix of people on any give street in a town like ours (which has so many, races, religions and nationalities),
but you cannot dictate where people live. When in doubt, people tend to side with comfort and familiarity rather than diversity. > Favorite movie? Shawshank Redemption. I've never been moved
so much by the telling of a story. The music felt like another character in the film, as it set the mood for everything. Morgan
Freeman's narration (he was in the movie as well) was genius. Then add in that Stephen King wrote the book and the wow factor
goes through the roof for me. > Favorite book? The
Legend of Bagger Vance. The first book that allowed me to say (as all book snobs do) that the book was better than the moving.
A combination of golf and the supernatural that blew my mind. > Favorite Musician? Harry Connick Jr. I am a jazz head. Have been since the 8th grade when I first starting playing
the music in a Jr high school band. I've been hooked ever since. > Favorite place? Maui. Went on vacation there a few years ago and almost didn't come back. > What would you like to tell your Miami fans? I have fans? Will you give them my email
address so they can love me down?
